As children, we played in the Park… even though there was a sign on the grass: “Don’t step on the grass”…
In the trains it was written: “Don’t lean out of the window”…, In the waiting rooms of public services it was written: “Thank you for not smoking”… There was a sign next to the stairs: “Be careful of the slippery”…, Next to electrical buildings: “Watch out for high voltage”… On large glass surfaces: “Watch out for glass”…
There were some warnings everywhere, all in order to protect us, humans… So that we wouldn’t get hurt…
It’s the same in construction… On construction sites, there were wooden or iron fences next to earthen excavations, unfinished floors, and work scaffolds…
In-built buildings, along stairs, slopes, landings, flat roofs, balconies, loggias, terraces… protective fences are installed…

Nothing without them… Next to Slavonski Brod, the river Sava flows… Next to it, on the slope of the fortified shore, there are two beautifully arranged horizontal platforms…
Maybe they don’t have the function of a promenade, but citizens use them for that… Especially, this upper one… Beyond it is the level of the main promenade “Korzo”…
Between that level of the “Korzo” and the upper “promenade”, there are various types of protective fences… From concrete seats, iron fences, earth embankments… And that’s fine…
But, between the upper “promenade” and the sloping coastal fort towards the river, there is no protection at all…
“Use at your own risk” …
What about people with reduced mobility… Children, the disabled, that is, children and wheelchairs… What, if someone does fall down that slope into the river… Who will be responsible…
If that upper platform is not for walking citizens, then it should either be closed or a warning should be written: “Use at your own risk”…
What are you waiting for… Prevention is better than cure…
