My brother was a fishing enthusiast… Me, not really… I fished for frogs on slips…
There were also snakes and kingfishers… But there were no big fish… at least I don’t remember the information that someone caught a 300-gram big fish…

This year was extremely warm and hot… Both on all water surfaces, as well as on the canals of the Fortress in Slavonski Brod… Otherwise, the Monument of zero categories…
Those canals around the Fortress are partially full of water and partially dry… Although it is a paradise for the eyes. As far as the flora and fauna are concerned, it is quite untidy… Foxes, hedgehogs, storks, herons, snakes, wild ducks, and geese appear …
In that channel, now there are also bigger fish… Individuals have multiplied them…
A few years ago, we were looking under the surface of the canal water and large fish… A couple of them were appearing along the surface of the water… The fish were swimming slowly…
The death of fish in the Tvrđava canal, as a “0” category monument…
I’m over 60 years old and I don’t remember the fish plague in our area… Maybe I’m too young, or something like that hasn’t happened here yet…
Regardless of the fact of warm weather, and the low water level of the canal, this should not have happened… Why didn’t the City of Slavonski Brod take preventive measures…
In order to prevent the death of fish … why didn’t he organize the replenishment of the canal with water…
How come the plague happened only in Slavonski Brod at that moment… Big fish up to approx. 2 kilograms were killed… Something similar to carp… The fish floated on their backs for several days with a great stench…
The canal had to be cleaned of dead fish…
In the end, this was done by the members of the KPA “MARSONIA” Diving Club, Slavonski Brod…
