That warning already made me sick… And I haven’t even left for Zagreb yet…
I started… I was tense and nervous the whole way, so as not to miss… Both the unnecessary roundabout and the third exit from it…
Finally… There it is… I slowed down, I can’t miss it… I entered it… And immediately looked and started counting… 1st, 2nd, and here it is the third exit…
But no, I made a mistake somewhere, so I had to make another round… and I succeeded… You have to have eyes, like a chameleon… To see everything…
Unnecessary roundabouts…
Roundabouts are good solutions to speed up traffic… Especially if they are built together with roads. And if they are planned in the urban plan…
In this case, all the necessary parameters can be met… Especially those that are necessary for the smooth flow of traffic… Without creating traffic jams and delays…
It is very important to properly design pedestrian crossings… They should not be close to the center of the roundabout. For the reason that the vehicle would not stop in the rotor…
The height of traffic signs is also important… It must not be at pedestrian eye level. Then they would block their view of the roads…
If not, then they become unnecessary roundabouts…
Believe it or not…
I don’t really like to write badly about my hometown… But I do it with the good intention of fixing some communal things… Unfortunately, here, politics is stronger than profession…
In the last ten years, more than 10 roundabouts have been built here…
I’m not saying that they are all unnecessary, but they are all interpolated into existing roads and footpaths… It seems to me that not all technical parameters could be respected in this way…
Those who make the functional and safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians…

Such unnecessary roundabouts are forcing the city…
The central circular parts have a small radius. When the buses drive in front they encroach on the pedestrian path… Pine trees, waterfalls, tall decorative plants. Iron sculptures are placed in the middle… Traffic signs are mostly placed at pedestrian eye level…
In this way, visual communication between drivers and drivers. And drivers and pedestrians inside roundabouts are prevented…
