Young masters …
As children, my brother and I went every summer to our uncle’s in Lika (Croatia)… He had a wooden house, from his father, which he used as a carpentry workshop…
In it, for his own needs, he made all the wooden parts needed for rakes, pitchforks and other tools… Also for wooden carts driven by oxen to transport hay, straw,…
We children loved playing in that workshop, with lots of woodworking tools… Of course we also made wooden spears, bows and arrows and other similar tools… Everything for our game…
Tinsmith and carpenter …
Another grandfather in Podvinje (Croatia) was a tinsmith… He had a tinsmith workshop… Grandfather made tin roof gutters, gutters, flashings…
He even made parts for cauldrons for brandy production…
We loved going to his place too… Immediately my brother and I would go to that sheet metal workshop and “make” miracles… They would use a wide range of handy tools for sheet metal processing…
And we never got hurt…
Both in one …
After all that, my brother ended up as a precision mechanic, and I ended up as an architect…
With him one on one…
For me, two in one…
There’s something in the genes…
