Cowboy movies …
As small children we loved watching cowboy movies… On TV and in cinemas…
We also read comics, bought plastic cowboy guns and hats… We made a lasso out of string…
Chilren made cowboy houses out of cardboard packaging… And we improvised all other cowboy equipment out of hand tools…
The only thing was that we didn’t have horses, but we ran and slapped each other’s backsides…
Cowboys and Indians …
Some children dressed up as Indians… They used feathers from roosters, turkeys, ducks, geese…
They drew various drawings on the body… the more, the better… We made various necklaces and bracelets from twine and wire…
We made bows and arrows, spears from tree branches…
They made tents from sheets and wooden construction…
Indian settlement …
After the game was over, everyone would light a campfire and gather around it…
They would play and sing together long into the night…
We also roasted various vegetables on that fire… potatoes, corn, peppers… We brought juices from home…
All together, like today politicians of opposite parties, policemen and thieves and other similar opposing groups…
