Lifelong learning…

“Smart people are born smart, or they have to learn…

Elementary School…

My school friend Davor says that in primary school he only learned to read, write, and count…

Today he is a waiter, a trained caterer… He often goes to the City Library to borrow books… He is very well-read and understands everything…

Sometimes I can tell him: “Davor, you’re not smart, you’re just well-read…

I ask him all sorts of things and I love listening to his answers… From the pyramids in Egypt to changing the earth’s poles…

Lifelong learning…

I didn’t like to read compulsory school literature, neither in primary school nor in secondary school… I preferred professional literature… The non-compulsory one… The one that interested me more…

From world wonders in architecture to the Universe…

Today, our school system prefers lifelong learning for students, teachers, and professors… Learning through training, education, seminars, and the like…

A lot is learned… And passed on to the students… Should they be taught/burdened so much…

Some people say that we have the most extensive education system, unlike most countries… Supposedly, we teach our students about everything and anything… Both what they need and what they don’t need… In other countries, it is taught on a smaller scale…

About forty years ago, I had courses at the Faculty of Architecture, which I already knew then that I would never need… That assumption of mine was confirmed in practice…

Head like a drum…

Of course, you shouldn’t exaggerate anything…

Remember how world-famous scientists were appreciated during their lifetime…

What they looked like in the end, who took care of them, and under what circumstances they died…
