A kitschy Antique building…

“Young, even younger…

Fine art…

In high school, I had a subject called Fine Arts… It was taught by the excellent professor Ranko Stajic… We analyzed in public with our classmates various works of art from various fields, from paintings to sculptures…

At the Faculty of Architecture, I had subjects called Interior and Design, Architectural Compositions, Development of Architecture, and History of Art…

In addition to theory, we also made models of various buildings and publicly explained our solutions to fellow students from the faculty…

Antique buildings…

Yesterday, my son Bojan took me to Brod (formerly Bosanski Brod) for grilled meat… Before that, we visited various shops, pharmacies, the market…

After that, on the recommendation of a merchant, we went to Restaurant Antik, for drinks and cevapi… The name of the restaurant itself was promising…

We found the Antik restaurant… From the outside, it looks like a family house with the ground floor converted into catering facilities… Although it has a good location next to a regional road, the access is insufficiently arranged with a steep slope, no stairs… Luckily we didn’t walk in the snow…

Access slopes and outdoor spaces are ugly and unprofessionally executed in a combination of various materials… Asphalt, concrete, slabs, tiles…

Not far from the Restaurant, the advertising board is placed next to the concrete retaining wall…

We enter the Antik restaurant… And immediately a visual shock… The catering area is tastefully decorated with antique equipment, according to the “Do it yourself” system… It is obvious that the renovated part of the family house was also extended with terraces, which were subsequently closed…

We order beer and roast meat from the Ancient waiter who can barely speak… Looks like he’s been singing all night…

Kitsch in interior design…

With enough theory and my thirty years of experience in the architectural profession, I give myself the right to criticize works from my field of education and profession…

Given the name of the restaurant Antik, as a guest and expert, I expected a monumental and dignified building that can justifiably bear its name…

However, luckily they were saved by good and tasty food…

Cheers…
