Brothel buildings…

“The rules are clear…

House of Fear…

As children, we loved going to Luna Parks, Circuses, Fairs… Wherever there was glitter, loud music, lots of people, there were us too…

That’s how we were once in the House of Fear…

The experience was traumatic…

The adventure consisted of the small train passing through various parts of the scenery, behind which the passengers were greeted by various horrors… Everything was accompanied by sudden screams, segments of music, visual effects, and so on…

After a few minutes of suffering fear, the ride was over… We recounted those horrors for days…

Brothel buildings …

Even as boys, we heard from older men that there are other “houses of fear”… I know you know what they are about, so we will not mention their activities in this post, only the design…

What do Brothel buildings look like, are they visually recognizable… Do they have any common urban, external, and internal design characteristics…

What materials are they built from… What are their roofs (flat or sloping)… And the windows, doors… Do they have balconies, terraces, loggias… Do they have to be simply shaped or complex…

What are their floor plans (simple or complex)… Do they have an elevator… What is the minimum size of a room and what size… And their wardrobes and bathrooms…

What material are the floors made of, what are the walls of the corridor, the room…

Are there communications that make it possible to prevent the meeting of guests inside these public houses… As well as during the entrance and exit of guests… How are the parking spaces arranged…

How does the support staff work (cleaners, janitor,…)?

And so on, and so on, and so on…

House of the Rising Sun…

…is an old, good song by the group “The Animals”… Any similarity between the text of that song and the topic of this post is accidental…

“There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
Well it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I’m one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new bluejeans
My father was a gamblin’ man
Down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he’s satisfied
Is when he’s on a trump
Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I’m goin’ back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I’m one”
