As children, after evening games in the park, we came home with blisters all over our bodies…
We’ve all been bitten by mosquitoes…
Ok, we were playing, we didn’t hear, see, or feel them… Until we got home… We were all itchy… We had a lot of visible stings and we ran out of blood…
Before and during sleep, when the light in the room goes out, you don’t see them, but you hear their buzzing… It’s crazy…
Well, why did God make them like that… If they are already drinking blood, do they have to buzz so irritatingly and do we have to itch after the sting… Why???
Couldn’t he have designed them just to drink blood, without buzzing and itching…
I knew how to wake up in the middle of the night and turn on the light… The wall was full of them… Then, using a plastic pestle, I stuck them to the walls…
Only in the morning, the red dots on the walls were a reminder of the bloody night…
Mosquitoes in our city…
This year, the mosquito infestation is terrible, or their suppression was not adequate, or ineffective…
They bite us day and night…
The mayor answers citizens’ questions: “The city of Slavonski Brod, as in previous years, conducts mosquito monitoring and treatments to control mosquito larvae and adults.
So far, three larvicidal treatments and a total of 5 corrections for the same treatments have been carried out. Also, an adulticidal treatment was carried out on an area of 250 ha.
All means used in the control of mosquitoes are duly registered and allowed for use in the Republic of Croatia by the decision of the competent Ministry.
The implementation of monitoring and larvicidal and adulticidal treatments against mosquitoes will continue, and the extremely rainy weather in recent months contributes to their reproduction.
At the same time, we appeal to citizens, if they have containers or barrels with water in their yards, to remove them, because water sources are suitable breeding grounds for mosquitoes.”
The mayor also answers the questions of us citizens of the city of Slavonski Brod, as if there is no money, or the airplane is not allowed to be used because of the proximity to the border of the neighboring country, blah, blah, blah…
One of our citizens replied to him and asked how this is possible in other cities that are also along the border…

For your citizens or mosquitoes… Given the facts, it looks like mosquitoes…
Given that in the center of our city, he keeps a breeding ground for them, which is a channel of stagnant water for their reproduction…
Since he lives on the outskirts of the city, it doesn’t matter to him personally…
