“Art or kitsch?“

Mud houses …

As children, we all made houses out of sand or mud… We were young future architects… We did architectural follies…

Each of us wanted to build the craziest house possible…

 

On the sea or river beach, in the muddy yard… Both boys and girls…

 

It suited our parents, because they didn’t have to watch over us… They had their own peace…

 

But before going to bed, we were all angry… And we children because we had to wash ourselves from the mud from head to toe… And our parents, who were a little angry at themselves, for tacitly allowing us to do so…

 

And for now having to watch over us…

 

Architectural follies …

In the desire to be different from others, we enter our world of imagination… We analyze, combine, do not sleep at night…

Until an idea is born… A crazy idea…

 

Then we refine it… We live for it…

We are in some special phase of consciousness/unconsciousness, which we do not remember later…

 

I often wonder how I came up with the idea for a realized architectural work…

In pure consciousness, I think I would not know such a thing, nor could I repeat it…

 

Then I go into some kind of ecstasy again, of course without illicit opiates…

Craziness…

 

Mad architects …

Crazy architects are born, created in mud, and “trained” in schools and architecture schools…

They start, exactly as I stated in the introduction to this Blog…

 

There’s no help for them…

 

And neither can we…
